Dorothy M. Arnold, 91, of Auburn, NE, passed away June 6, 2012 at Auburn. She was born November 23, 1920 at Table Rock, NE, to the late Paul and Louise (Gossman) Moritz.
On August 20, 1941 she married Vernon H. Arnold at Humboldt, NE. He passed away December 24, 1991.
Dorothy was raised northeast of Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1939. The couple established their home near Salem, NE when married and three years later moved northeast of Humboldt and continued to live in the Stella and Humboldt area until moving to Verdon, NE in 1978 and moving to Auburn in January 1997. She was a member of Community Church at Stella, NE.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Larry and his wife Mary Kay of Syracuse, NE, daughters, Glenda Stevicks and her husband Larry of Ft. Scott, KS, Bonnie Shanks and her husband William of Stella, Karen Wenzl and her husband John of Lincoln, NE, Mary Jo Boyce and her husband Ron of Lincoln, Patricia Barbee and her husband Layton of Auburn, sister, Nadine Lampe of Falls City, twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-three great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren and Richard Fox. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Wayne Moritz, sister, Betty Glathar, granddaughter, Kristen Wenzl, daughter, Joyce Fox-Benson and her husband Ron.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Stella Community Church with Pastors Kevin and Monte Stevicks officiating. Interment will be in Stella Cemetery.
