- DEATH OF RENE GRUNEWALD -
New Orleans Piano Man, and son of Louis Grunewald, dies - had developed a prominent future in the Music Trade Field.

Mr. Grunewald was a son of Louis Grunewald, a pioneer in the vast business ventures in New Orleans, prominent as the owner of the Grunewald Hotel, the L. Grunewald Co., Ltd., and other large enterprises. He was born in the city in 1869 and received his education in the public schools and the Jesuits' College.
He directed his energies to the manufacture of musical instruments and established his plant in Conti street.

He is survived by his widow, who was, Miss Stella Beck; his father and mother and the following brothers: W.N. Grunewald, Theodore Grunewald, Clifford Grunewald, of Houston, and Louis Grunewald, Jr., of Brookline.

The funeral took place Thursday, the 17th. from the residence of his brother-in-law, W.C. Beck, in Napoleon Avenue. After solumn and impressive service, the body was interred in the family tomb at Metairie Cemetery. Among the many beautiful floral remembrances was a spray of American Beauty roses and the ferns from the employees of the Grunewald music house, which completely covered the casket. There was a large attendance, attesting the high esteem in which Mr Grunewald was held. The pall-bearers were Mr Grunewald's brothers, W.N. Grunewald, of the Grunewald piano house, in this city; Clifford Grunewald, of the piano house which bears his name in Houston, Texas; Theodore Grunewald, of the Grunewald Hotel; W.C. Beck, a brother-in-law, and W.L. White and W.F. Barcelo, of Hiram Lodge No 70, of which Mr. Grunewald was a member. Gus Beck, the veteran piano man associated with the Grunewald music house, father-in-law of the decedent, was to have been one of the pall-bearers, but was prevented by illness.
