Emma Barbara Reed was born near Alida, KS.Geary County to Mr.& Mrs.Adolph Gfeller August 17,1878.She married William Stephen Reed April 15,1903 in Dickinson County,KS.She lived on a farm near the Smoky Hill river in the Brookside School Dist, She attended Dickinson County Community High School. Taught school in the county school system. Was member of the Order of the Eaastern Star,Manhattan From 1908-1921 she lived in Junction City.Moving to Dallas Texas in 1955 with a daughter, Mrs.Edwin Vaupel,where she died at the age of 85 years.
