John Drozda was born April 11, 1877 in Czechoslovakia and passed away Jan. 12 at his home east of Creighton at the age of 73 years.
In early infancy he was baptized and on Oct. 6, 1916, he was confirmed into the Lutheran faith in
Golgotha Lutheran Church.
When he was 18 years old, he and his mother came to this county. They located in Saunders county. Soon thereafter, he came to Pierce County and worked as a farm laborer.
On Feb. 19, 1924 he was united in marriage with Mrs. Johanna Rodiek. The family lived in Pierce and Knox counties for 27 years.
Mr. Drozda had been a member of the Eden Valley Church for 27 years and attended services regularly until his health would not allow him to do so. About ten years ago his health began to fail. For the past five years, it became steadily worse.
He is survived by his widow; five children, Freda Dietze of Wausa, Emma and Elmer Rodiek at home, Dora Diedrichsen of Wausa and Lucille Hitz of Pierce; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
