Funeral services for Mrs. Johanna Drozda, 90, who died Thursday, Aug. 8 at the Plainview hospital, were conducted Sunday afternoon at Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. James Witschorke of Neligh officiated.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Leonard Wagner, Douglas Diedrichsen, Harry Lee Diedrichsen, Warren Diedrichsen, Joe Hitz and Rodney Hitz.
Johanna Margaret Catherine Marie Gerdes was born Feb. 9, 1878 at Sterling, Ill. to John and Marie Gerdes. Early in infancy she was baptized at the Lutheran church in Sterling. At the age of 12 she moved with her parents to Scribner where she was confirmed on April 7, 1899 at St. Peter Lutheran Church.
On Feb. 6, 1902, she was united in marriage to John Rodiek. Six children were born to them. A daughter, Alma, died at the age of two. Mr. Rodiek died in 1922.
In 1924 she was married to John Drozda who preceded her in death in 1951.
Mrs. Drozda is survived by four daughters and one son, Mrs. Moritz (Freda) Dietze, Mrs. Laurence (Emma) Iauch and Elmer Rodiek of Creighton, Mrs. Harry (Dora) Diedrichsen of Wausa and Mrs. Arnold (Lucille) Hitz of Pierce; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Catherine Dockweiler of LaGrande, Ore.
Besides her husbands and daughter, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
