Mrs. A Wermes

Mrs. Anna Wermes passed away in St. Vincent's hospital, Sioux City, on Thursday, April 10, after a sickness which lasted eight months. She resided at 4514 Harrison Street, Sioux City.


Anna Thiel was born March 12, 1890, at Cherokee and was 68 years of age. She was united in marriage with George Wermes on April 16, 1913 at Remsen. The couple was well known in Remsen and LeMars.


Funeral services were held at 9:30 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Leeds on Saturday, April 12, with Father Huewe officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, Sioux City.


Survivors include her husband; three sons, Clarence, Robert and Donald, all of Leeds; two daughters, Mrs. Gordon Severson of Alton and Mrs. Henry Rohrich of Hinton; 13 grandchildren. Her parents, three sisters and six brothers preceded her in death.


She is also survived by a brother, John Thiel; six sisters, Mrs. P. H. Christoffel, Remsen; Mrs. Elmer Donner, Remsen; Mrs. Alf Pick, Remsen; Mrs. Emmert Tentinger, Remsen and Mrs. Bernard Curry of Cleghorn.


Deceased was a member of the Altar Society.
