Thomas Charles Gaffney, Jr., 72, of 1860 Brentwood Dr., Middletown entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 20, 2009 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Thomas was born on February 22, 1937 in Steelton, Pa and was the son of Thomas Charles Sr. and Nellie Tamar Blakslee Gaffney.

Thomas was self-employed specializing in advertisement, a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Middletown, an Air-Force Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Highspire V.F.W.

Thomas enjoyed cooking and being a disc jockey for the many radio stations in Virginia and Pennsylvania.

In addition to his parents, his son, Martin Hodgins of Santa Rosa, CA, preceded Thomas in death.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife , Concetta B. Dimeo Gaffney; four daughters, Lori wife of Mark MacDonald of Middletown, Colleen wife of Rick Maurer of Harrisburg, Lisa Miller of Middletown, and Kelly wife of Jim Wenrich of Harrisburg; one son, Thomas husband of Jennifer Hodgins of Menlo Park, CA; one sister, Mary Ann Zlogar; and eleven grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in his church on 280 N. Race St, Middletown with the Rev. Louis P. Ogden as celebrant.

Burial with military honors will be in the Middletown Cemetery.

Viewing will be Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:45 A.M. at the Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown.
