AUGUSTA LANE, AGED 75, DIES
Mrs. Augusta Lane, age 75 years, widow of the late Samuel Lane, and mother of Deputy Sheriff Freeman Lane, died at 1:30 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hans Rhoda, 307 East Institute Street. Death was due to an attack of pneumonia.
Mrs. Lane was born in Germany, coming to the United States when a girl. For many years she resided in the Kouts vicinity, but moved to Valparaiso about twenty years ago.
Surviving are eight children as follows: Mrs. Edna Rhoda, Mrs. Pearl Miller, Freeman Lane and Leo Lane, all of Valparaiso; Floyd Lane and Guy Lane, both of Kouts; Mrs. Jennie Davis and Bernard Lane, both of Morocco, Ind. There are also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Rhoda home, 307 East Institute Street, conducted by Rev. C.M. Smail, of the Christian Church. Burial will be in Kouts Cemetery.
