In memory of Mrs. Emma Ward Sult, daughter of J. H. and Nannie J. Ward, was born January 25, 1885 and on March 6, 1920 her spirit went back to God who gave it. Aged 35 years, 1 month and 10 days. She was married to W. A. Sult February 28, 1903, and was converted during girlhood days and lived and died a consistent member of the Methodist church. She was yet in the morning of life—strong, active and vigorous, with the blush of youth still gently clinging to her cheeks with the responsibilities of life gradually unfolding to her. Much could be said of her nobility of soul and dignity of character. She was high minded and proud but gentle in spirit and tender in act; ambitious and kind to everyone. She was an obedient daughter, a kind and sympathetic sister, an affectionate wife, a fond and loving good neighbor, a loyal friend and a true woman. The genial sunshine of her happy smiles will be missed everywhere she was known, but we will cherish her sacred memory—not as one dead but just gone away, until we too like her in the evolution of time, answer the final summons; when we will meet her again and renew through all eternity the companionship so happily begun here. It was necessary to know her to appreciate and understand her; possessed of a disposition that always saw the best in everything and everybody with a heart always willing and self-sacrificing for the accommodation of others. Emma had won a place in the hearts of those with whom she associated, which will not be filled again. Bright and happy possessed of many talents with home and also friends, she had everything to live for; but God in his all-wise providence saw fit to call her home. ‘Tis said that all things work together for good and so in this dark hour her loved ones may look up through the clouds and see God's face together with the spirit of she who has gone, basking in the sunlight of the love of God's Holy son. She is dead but her memory will live on and on and the lives of those who have known her will be made better for having associated with her—her earthly activities have ceased. Her voice to this earth is hushed but there is a home beyond the skies where rest may be complete and where companionship will have no end.
She leaves to mourn her untimely death in addition to her husband, a father and mother, J. H. and Nannie J. Ward of Fremont, Nebraska, the following brothers and sisters: Morris, Con John and William of Fremont, Nebraska; E. W. Ward of Grand Island, Nebraska and Glen F. Ward of Elk Creek, Va.; Ina and Lucy Ward and Mrs. Margie Clark, of Fremont, Nebraska; Mrs. Ray Charleston of Peru, Nebraska; Mrs. Fred Pscherer of Scribner, Nebraska; and Mrs. W. E. Davidson of Crockett, Va. Two brothers having preceded her to the grave some years ago.
