Obituary published in the Telegraph-Herald, Dubuque, Iowa on April 16, 1944, Page Seventeen: MRS. MARY KLOSTERMANN, Dyersville, IA. Special; Mrs. Mary Klostermann, 83, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louis Koelker, at 10 o'clock Friday night after a few weeks' illness. Funeral services will be held from the Steger Funeral Home here to St. Francis Church Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock with burial in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Petersburg.
Mrs. Klostermann, the widow of the late Clem Klostermann, was born Mary Lueck on March 6, 1861, in New Vienna, IA. She is survived by three sons, John and Frank of Petersburg, IA, and Emil of Dyersville; five daughters, Mrs. Henry Osterhaus of Bloomington, Wis.; Mrs. Louis Tanke and Mrs. Louis Koelker, both of Dyersville, Mrs. Ben J. Woerdhoff of Edgewood, IA; and Mrs. Al Nurre of Petersburg; one brother, Anton Lueck of New Vienna; one sister, Mrs. Jacob Krapfl, of Dyersville; 52 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Ten grandsons are in the service, eight of them serving overseas."
