On Wednesday, November 22, 2006, Viola Amanda Nass Hodgins passed away at her residence in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, where she had lived with her daughter and son-in-law for the past three and one-half years.

She was born February 11, 1914, in Valders, Wisconsin, to the late Frank Jr. and Ella Nass (nee Zastrow). She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1930. On October 8, 1937, in Waukesha, she was united in marriage to G. Ray Hodgins who preceded her in death on May 31, 1983. They made their home in Racine, Wisconsin, where she was a member of First United Methodist Church for over sixty years. After moving to South Carolina she became a member of First United Methodist Church Isle of Palms. She was employed by Earl Hamill Accounting firm for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, step-father: Carl Garlock; three brothers and two sisters-in law: Marvin Nass, Roland and Mabel Nass, Eugene and Dorothy Nass; half-sister and brother-in-law: Phyllis Garlock Fitzgerald and William Fitzgerald; son-in-law: Wayne Wahlberg; brother-in-law: William Hodgins; and sister-in-law and her husband: Gwen and Anthony Greco.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law: Beverly Hodgins Costello and Norman Costello of Mount Pleasant, SC; son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth and Sandra Hodgins of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter: Sheryl Hodgins of San Francisco, California; granddaughters: Jennifer Hodgins Meadows(Wesley) of Canton, GA, Amanda Hodgins of Washington, D.C., and Lynn Costello Horne (Adam) of Chesapeake, VA; grandsons: Andrew Hodgins of Atlanta, GA, and Cory Costello, M.D. of Ft. Leavenworth, KS; one great-grandson, Brice Meadows of Canton, GA; sister-in-law Sylvia Hodgins of Longwood, FL; and nieces, nephews and friends.
