Carl Deckert, 87, of Henning, died Tuesday May 15, 2012, at "Our Home, Your Home" assisted living in Henning.

Carl Deckert was born on Dec. 24, 1924, in Girard Township in Ottert [Otter] Tail County, the son of Adolph and Bertha (Kneifel) Deckert. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Henning and attended school in Girard Township. He entered the U.S. Army on April 9, 1946, serving until his discharge on Oct. 9, 1947.

On Oct. 22, 1950, he married Agnes Hagen at Folden Lutheran Church in rural Henning.
Carl was a truck driver for Land O' Lakes and a dairy farmer for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Paul, Laura, Alvina, Madeline, Olga, Anne, Paula, Erna and Alma.

Visitation: Today from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Henning

Carl Deckert, 87, of Henning, died Tuesday May 15, 2012, at "Our Home, Your Home" assisted living in Henning.
