LaCROSSE-Leo Helfrich, 72, a retired furniture
store manager, died Sunday night in Edwards
County Hospital in Kinsley after a two month illness.

He was born Oct. 16, 1890 in Barton County.

He married Velma Kopsky April 16, 1944 in LaCrosse.

He managed the Helfrich Furniture Store here
until retirement in the earty l950s.

Member: Catholic Church.

Survivors: The widow, of the home; step-sons.
La Verne Kopsky, Seattle; Virgil Kopsky,
Lincoln; daughters. Mrs, Vclma Atkinson,
Kansas Cily, Mo,; Mrs, Vera Peach. La Crosse;
Mrs. Jean Schniidt, Offerte; Mrs. Margaret
Pechanec, Rozel; brothers, Henry, John,
Joe. Frank, and Fred, all of Syracuse; sisters,
Mrs. John Klciike, .Spearvillc; Mrs. Paul
Schartz, Great Bend; Mrs. John Heinz,
Ellinwood.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Timken Catholic
Church, Msgr. A. B, Kluppy officiating; burial,
St, Michael's Cemetery, LaCrosse. Rosary: 8
p.m. Tuesday at Hoover- Pittman Chapel, LaCrosse.
