Competition Snowboarding Athlete. Born in Ringerike, Norway, she was a professional snowboard rider since 1993. At the 2001 X-Games in Vermont she was the gold medalist in the Women's Boarder X Snowboarding event. She was also the official 2001 Vans Triple Crown of Snowboarding Champion at Tahoe, California. At the FSI-Snowboard World Cup, Berhtesgaden, Germany, February 7, 2004, she captured the women's cross, becoming the first Norwegian to win a World Cup event. On September 14, 2004, she suffered head and neck injuries when she fell while training for a World Cup event in Valle Nevado, Chile. She died five days later without regaining consciousness at age 26.
