Obituary:

Anna Janssen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Orthman, was born in Saline County on December 30, 1888 and passed away on May 5, at Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 79.

She was baptized by Rev. Huber in her parents home, March 3, 1889 and confirmed on April 5, 1903 by Pastor Lohr in the Kramer Lutheran Church.

On February 15, 1911 Anna was married to Fred A. Janssen and to this union a son and daughter were born. The couple engaged in active farming until about seven years ago when they retired on the farm.

Mrs. Janssen is survived by her husband, Fred of Crete; son, Edward of Lincoln; daughter, Leona Ray of Grandview, Missouri, brothers, Carl of Oberlin, Kansas; Fred of Atwood, Kansas; Henry of San Clemente, California; and Ernest of Holdrege; sister, Mrs. William Kuhlman of Ludell, Kansas, and three grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday afternoon in St. John Lutheran Church at Kramer with the Rev. William Rumpel officiating. Interment was in the Lincoln Memorial Park.
