Berthamay "Bertie" Stanley Roberts, 87, died on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at her home in Newberg, OR, of oral Cancer. Bertie was born on August 25, 1923, in Searsboro, Iowa. At age 7, she gave herlife to Christ. From 1946-1948, she worked for Youth for Christ in Kansas City, Mo. In Indianola,Iowa, on August 29, 1948, she married Wayne Roberts, and they moved to St. Louis, Mo, for medical school. In 1952, he joined the practice of Dr. Alvin Roberts, in Central Point, OR, Bertiesupported him and their five children in every endeavor. At Medford Friends Church, she was a beloved singer, Bible teacher,and promoter of George Fox University in Newberg, OR. In 1991, theRobertses retired to Newberg. Bertie is survived by her husband, Dr. Wayne Roberts;daughers, Andrea Herling, Priscilla Hochhalter, Cindi Hooker and Sheila Hart; daughter-in-law, Cris Roberts; sister, Luella Dillavou; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The memorial service will be held Sunday, January 2, 2011, at 1:30 p.m, at Newberg Friends Church, Newberg, OR. Gifts may be made to Medford Frineds Chruch, or George Fox University's Wayne and Bertie Roberts Memorial Scholarship, and on line condolences to Attrell's Newberg Funeral Chapel
