Edward A. Bohling, 49, a city street
department employee received fatal
injuries when crushed under the dump
bed of the truck he was operating.
Death occurred at 8:30 p.m. Saturday
in Hershey hospital.
Edward Arthur Bohling was born in Mus-
catine Aug. 30, 1889, and had spent
his entire life here. He had been em-
ployed by the Muscatine street depart-
ment for several years.
He married Miss Helen Kiesewetter in
Muscatine on Nov. 23, 1910. Mr. Bohling
was a member of Knights of Pythias lodge
No. 76 of Muscatine, and of the Metho-
dist church at Victor, Ia.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen
Bohling and seven children, Mrs. Ed
Weber, of Muscatine, Wilbur Bohling of
Pembine, Wis., Mrs. Paul Figg of Musca-
tine, Mrs. Rudolph Pankratz of Muscatine
and Clifford, Richard and Marvin Bohllng
all at home. Four brothers and two sis-
ters also survive, Walter Bohling of Ames,
Alfred Bohling of Muscatine, Fred Bohling
of California; Louis Bohling Mt. Pleasant,
Mrs. Mary McKay of Davenport, and Mrs.
Sophia Thieker of Wuscatine. His parents,
one sister, one brother and an infant
daughter preceded him in death.
The body is at the residence, 811 Wood-
lawn avenue, but will be returned to the
Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home, 216 West
Third street at noon Tuesday for funeral
rites to be held there at 2 p.m. The Rev.
W.B. Milne, pastor of the First Congrega-
tional church, will be in charge. Members
of the Wyoming lodge No. 76, Knights of
Pythias, will be in charge of services at
the grave. Burial will be in Greenwood
cemetery.
