She was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Otis, to Conrad and Catherine Orschlett Litzenberger. She attended Ness County schools.
On Nov. 4, 1931, she married Roy Martin in Scott City.
A longtime resident of Finney County, Mrs. Martin moved to Garden City in 1983. A homemaker, she later worked at the American Legion in Dighton and Carmelita's Café in Holcomb. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City, the Senior Center of Finney County, the American Legion Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, sewing, baking and dancing.
Survivors include three sons, Roy "Barney" Martin Jr. and wife Charlotte of Dighton, Virgil "Sonny" Martin of Dighton, and Darrell Martin and wife Ruby of Dighton; two daughters, Edith Snyder of Wichita, and Betty Brungardt and husband Tom of Garden City; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband died in October 1954. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Erma Martin and Marian Buell; a son, Herman "Bud" Martin; five brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
