Maurine Caroline Wacker Peeks was born April 23, 1922, in Wilton, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Etha (Doran )Wacker. She died on Aug. 20, 2004, at Medford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Medford, Ore.
A memorial service will be 8 a.m. Aug. 29 at Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton. A burial service will be 11 a.m. at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton.
Maurine attended the Zion Lutheran Schools and graduated from Wilton High School in 1939. During World War II, she served in the Navy (WAVES) in Washington, D.C. On Jan. 13, 1945, she married Norman Peeks in Baltimore, Md. Norman and Maurine were the parents of five children: Pamela, Melanie, Frederick (Rick), Sandra and Suzanne. She worked in her husband's business in the early years and later in the retail business. In 1984, Maurine moved to Medford. She was a volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for several years. She loved her family, helped raise her Oregon grandchildren and enjoyed shopping.
Her parents, her husband, Norman, and her son, Rick, preceded her in death.
