Dolores Yevich
Avid reader enjoyed discussing world events
Dolores Yevich, 83, formerly of Third Avenue, Berwick, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Berwick Retirement Village II.
Born on Oct. 31, 1928, in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa (Kusarik) Yevich.
A graduate of Berwick High School, she went on to become a legal secretary for Attorney Nicholas Piazza.
She was a member of Holy Annunciation Church in Berwick. In her early years, she was active with the Berwick Russian Club. She was an avid reader and very knowledgeable; she enjoyed discussing government issues and world events. Her gentle and charitable personality benefited many people.
Preceding her in death are three sisters: Mary Sheptak, Ann Franz, and Sue Kinney; and three brothers: John, Stephen and Andrew S. Yevich.
Surviving are one brother, Eugene Yevich of Taiwan; one sister, Theresa Weaver of Berwick; one nephew, Michael Sheptak, and his family in California; and one niece, Suzanne Frantz of New Jersey.
A visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 110 Chestnut St., Berwick, where a Parastas will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the funeral home, followed by a Requiem Service at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church with the Rev. Michael Demko, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Holy Annunciation Church Cemetery, Berwick.
