WEDDING -- A quiet home wedding took place Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Fahrenbruch when their daughter, Lena, was married to Joseph G. Crews, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Crews. The marriage service was read by Rev. E.F. Haist promptly at eight o'clock, in the presence of only the immediate relatives, after which a three course wedding dinner was served. The bride wore a pretty traveling dress of dark blue broadcloth with hat to match.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Crews are graduates of the Culbertson high school and are popular young people of the town. Mr. Crews was a Corporal in the army and has only been home from overseas a few months. He is one of the prosperous farmers here, and both he and bride have a host of friends who wish them a happy life together. They left Wednesday morning by auto route for a trip to Denver and other points in Colorado

The funeral services for Mrs. Joseph Crews, wife of the Culbertson postmaster, was held at the Zion Evangelical Church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. M.S. Satchell and Rev. H.C. Hoesch conducting the services. Burial was made in the local cemetery. Because of the widely known and popular favor of Mrs. Crews in the community, the services were perhaps one of the largest ever held in Culbertson. At the cemetery the Eastern Star and Masonic organizations had charge of the burial services.

The death of Mrs. Crews came Saturday evening at 8 o'clock from what is thought to have been complications arising from an automobile accident six weeks ago, when she suffered a broken rib and a few minor body bruises. She had been confined to her bed since the accident, but despite every medical aid she failed to rally for the better, gradually sinking lower and lower until the grim reaper claimed her Saturday evening. Her untimely death is quite a shock to both the family and the many friends, who find it difficult to realize that she has been taken away. She was quite active in local church and civic organizations and before her illness assisted her husband in the local post office.

She leaves, besides her husband, two sons, 8 and 10 years old, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fahrenbruch, who reside here. The many friends of the family join with the Progress in extending their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones in their great loss.
