Amalie Lepke Johnson, 80, died Monday at the home of her daughter in New Paltz after suffering a stroke three days earlier. She was born in Germany, daughter of the late August and Anna Ziehl Lepke. She was married in 1891 to Otto Johnson who died in 1931. She had lived for several years at Ulster Heights before moving to Ellenville before moving to Ellenville where her husband ran a store until his death. For the past four years she had lived with her daughter in New Paltz. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Highland and had earlier been active in the Methodist churches at Ulster Heights and Ellenville. She served as president for many years of the Ulster Heights Methodist Church Ladies' Aid. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Emma Arnold of Queens Village, Mrs. Augusta Zupp of New Paltz, Mrs. Mildred McKay of Richmond Hill, Mrs. Helen Van Kirk of Ellenville and Mrs. Mabel La Falce of New Paltz, with whom she made her home; three sons, Carl of New York, William of Dannemora and Otto of Kew Gardens; two brothers, Emil Lepke of Ulster Heights and Adolph Lepke of Brooklyn, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The Rev. William Irish will officiate at services today. Burial will be at Ulster Heights.
