Daniel Rutz, 28, of Manhattan, died Monday, September 24th, 2012, at home. He was born June 13th, 1984, at Manhattan, the son of Mike and Ulrike (Schmitt) Rutz.
A public viewing for family and friends will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, October 1st, 2012, at the Penwell- Gabel Funeral Home in Herington.
Memorial services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012, at the New Basel United Church of Christ, south of Abilene, Kansas, with Rev. Erik Graefe
officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan on Stage Hill. The Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel, is assisting the family with services.
Daniel attended the elementary schools in Enterprise and Manhattan, Anthony
Middle School, and Manhattan High School in Manhattan, Kansas. He enjoyed
fishing, biking, swimming and reading, but his love was spending time with his family, especially his son, Ryan, and long time companion, Cassie Pemberton.
He is survived by his son Ryan Michael Lee Rutz of Kansas City, father Michael Rutz (wife-Renauda) of Enterprise, mother Ulrike Rutz of Manhattan, two sisters Julia Cooper (husband-Curt), and Amy Rutz of Manhattan, a niece Inara Cooper, Paternal Grandparents Willis and Carol Rutz of Enterprise, Maternal Grandparents Heiner and Loni Schmitt of Miesa, Germany, two aunts Margit, Anke, (husband- Michael), two cousins Saskia, and Yukka of Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, Aunt Susan Holloway (husband-Charlie) of Solomon, Uncle Bill Rutz (wife-Susan) of Topeka, cousins Stephine Morgan (husband-Shane) of Oregon, Jamie Holloway (wife-Shawn) of Holland, and Brian Holloway (wife-Dawn) of Abilene.
