Jacob Joseph Schell, 91 of Ocean Park, Washington, died November 27, 2009, at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born in Rupert, Idaho. In 1941, he volunteered for the Army Air Corps and became a B-17 pilot. He was sent to North Africa where he eventually flew 50 missions. He retired from the service as a major. He taught U.S. History, psychology, and was a football and wrestling coach.
He is survived by his wife Nelda of 43 years, 4 children, 2 sisters, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Graveside inurnment Friday, December 11, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at Williamette National Cemetery.
