Liebenthal -- Leo Herrman, 73, of Liebenthal, died Tuesday at St. Anthony Hospital, Hays, after a short illness. Born April 11, 1895 at Liebenthal, he married Elizabeth Burguardt Sept. 11, 1929, here.

He was postmaster for 43 years before retiring in 1965. He was a life-long resident here. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Liebenthal, and the American Legion.

Survivors include the widow; sons, Jerome and Wenny, both of Liebenthal, Gilbert, La Crosse, Julius and Francis, both of Great Bend, Leon, Topeka; daughters, Mrs. Elmer Daubert and Mrs. Mary Hooper, both of Great Bend, Mrs. Cal Johnson, Yates Center, Cecilia Herrman, of the home, Mrs. Gilbert Meder, Pfeifer, Mrs. Sylvester Urban and Mrs. Jerome Randa, both of Liebenthal, Mrs. Adolph Schuckman, Victoria, Mrs. William Herrman, La Crosse; brothers, Raymond and Eddie, both of Hays, Joe, Pocatello, Idaho; sisters, Mrs. Margaret Riedel, Mrs. Emma Herrman and Mrs. Mary Harkness, all of Hays; 47 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the church; Rev. Eugene VanFloun. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoover Funeral Home, La Crosse. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
