Richard L. Bauer, 83, passed away Nov. 4, 2012, in Gering. A memorial service will be held Nov. 9, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Richard was born Dec. 29, 1928 in Minatare to Katherine (Michael) Bauer and Henry Bauer. He attended schools in the Minatare area. Richard married Betty Kaufman in 1949 and they had three children.He worked for Lockwood and B&C Steel before he started farming and feeding cattle. After his divorce and shortly before he retired he met Anne Paris. Anne was a special person who cared for him while sharing their lives together. He enjoyed his retirement with Anne, family, fishing, visiting with friends, playing cards and casinos. Richard will be remembered for his great sense of humor, an ability to see the lighter side of life and a smile that would light up the room, these are just a few of his endearing qualities. Preceding Richard in death were his parents; his son, Ronnie and 13 half, step and full brothers and sisters.
