ALLIANCE - Rosalie Schnell, 87 of Alliance died Friday, July 29, 2005 at Regional West Medical Center. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard C. Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.
She was born on Oct 21, 1917, in Hastings, Nebraska to Henry C. and Anna (Phief) Bauer.
On June 6, 1936, she was united in marriage to Conrad E. Schnell in Harrisburg, Nebraska.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Her survivors are her sons, Larry C. Schnell (and very special friend Shirley Rief), Harvey (Beverly) Schnell, and Roger (Dorothy) all of Alliance, daughters, Violet (Don) Colson of Alliance, Mardella (George) McFall of Lakeside, Rosemary (Dave) Woods of Manhattan, Kan., and Connie (Jim) Engelhaupt of Alliance, 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Herman Bauer of Sacramento, Calif., sister Edna Schnell of Alliance, half-brother Richard Bauer of Scottsbluff, half-sisters Virginia Schnell of Sturgis, S.D, Elnora Huber of Scottsbluff, Alvina Lehl of Hemingford, and Hermina Meyer of Portland, Ore., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, one brother, one sister, one half-brother and one half sister.
Bates-Gould Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
