David F. Thomas, 72 of Sioux Falls, died Monday, December 10, 2012. He was born July 18, 1940 in Holland, MN, the son of Elmer and Alvina (Weinkauf) Thomas. He grew up on the family farm near Holland and then moved Pipestone, MN with his family. Later, he relocated to Sioux Falls where he lived for over 40 years.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and later served as an usher. He volunteered at the Good Samaritan Center and the Volunteers of America office.

He is survived by his siblings; Elener Mueller, Ogilvie, MN, Fayer Dehler, Onamia, MN, Evelyn Schmidt, Sioux Falls, Francis Thomas, Waldorf, Maryland, Carol (Ralph) Courtney, Tyler, MN; his sisters-in-law, Lois Thomas, Sioux Falls, Ellen Thomas, Lake Benton, MN, Carol Thomas (Chuck Jensen), Sioux Falls and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James, Edwin, Alvin and Richard, Kenneth and his twin and sisters, Ellen Fett, Mildred Thomas, Ardis Knutson and Sharla Thomas.

Funeral services were December 12, 2012 in Sioux Falls and Interment was at the Holland (MN) Cemetery.
