On June 20, 1931, she was united in marriage to Edwin H. Kempf in Dundee. They were blessed with 30 years together. Edwin predeceased August 23, 1961.
For 31 years, she was employed at Pick Manufacturing and was a member of their 25 Year Club. Edna enjoyed following the Milwaukee Brewers, listening to polka music and spending time with family and friends.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church for more than 60 years, being the oldest member of the congregation. She appreciated the visits and thoughtfulness of the pastors and members of the congregation.
Survivors include 1 daughter Karen Butzlaff of Harshaw; 5 grandchildren Randy Butzlaff (Mary Kleppin), Tim Butzlaff, Bruce (Jill) Butzlaff, Elaine Kempf and Laurie (Jason) DeMeyer; 4 great-grandchildren Benjamin (Candice) Butzlaff, Daniel Butzlaff, Jacob DeMeyer and Holly Kempf; 2 great-great-grandchildren Macy and Carson Butzlaff; 1 brother-in-law Henry Kempf; also many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son Carmen, son-in-law Lloyd Butzlaff, sister Leona (Frank) Backhaus, brothers Vilas (Marion) Roehl and Herbert (Betty) Roehl.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
