Andrew F. Bellendier of 726 2nd Ave. SE died Sunday night at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein. Bellendier, 85, had been a resident of Grandview Care Center here for the past several years.

He was a retired car repairman for the Chicago Great Western Railway and a resident of Oelwein for 56 years after coming to the United States from Russia at the age of 20.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Brant-Kerns Funeral Home in Oelwein, where a parish rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and a Knights of Columbus rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Bellendier, a member of Sacred Heart Church, the VFW, American Legion and KCs, is survived by four sons, Paul Bellendier of Independence, Edward Bellendier of Los Angeles, Calif., Andrew J. Bellendier of Maquoketa and Jerome P. Bellendier of Warren, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. William (Ann) Scanlon of Clinton, Mrs. William (Agnes) Weissinger of Omaha, Mrs. LeRoy (Mary) Mahoney of Masonville, and Mrs. H. S. (Frances) Wendling Sr. of Independence; 26 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and his wife, the former Anna Kisner.
