Deceased emigrated with his family to America in the year 189l{and took up his first residence in Muscatine county. Three years later, the family moved to O'Brien county. On December 10, 1914, his wife Frederika, nee Gipp [sic Jipp], preceded her husband into eternity. Five children were born into the family, three boys and two girls. The children are Ernest Meier, Hartley; Anton Meier, Timber Lake, S. D.; Louis Meier, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Minnie Brandt and Mrs. Lena Weise, Hartley. Since the death of his wife the deceased had made his home with his son Ernest. The funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. C.
