Marvin E. Schneider Sr., 79, of Blue Hill, Nebraska, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Good Samaritan Village-Perkins Pavilion in Hastings, Nebraska.
Services are Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Blue Hill, Nebraska, with Rev. Steve Marsh officiating. Burial will be at Blue Valley Cemetery in Ayr, Nebraska. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the Church. Memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society. Merten-Butler Mortuary of Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
Marvin was born on July 11, 1933, to Ernest and Esther (Maler) Schneider at York, Nebraska. He married Janita P. Gilbert on July 15, 1956, at Cairo, Nebraska. They lived in Bennett, Nebraska where they farmed and then to Juniata, Nebraska. They moved to Blue Hill, Nebraska, in 1971. He had worked at T&L Irrigation for many years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Blue Hill, Nebraska.
He is survived by (3) sons, Marvin Jr. (Linda) of Blue Hill, Nebraska, Raymond of Lincoln, Nebraska, Joel (Jewels) of Blue Hill, Nebraska; (3) daughters, Esther (Mike) Harig of Hastings, Nebraska, Patricia (Tony) Wald, Mandan, North Dakota, Clara (Roger) Marquardt of Blue Hill, Nebraska; (2) brothers, Arlen (Pauline) Schneider of Lincoln, Nebraska, Dale (Sandy) Schneider of Lincoln, Nebraska; (13) grandchildren; (13) great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; (1) daughter-in-law; (1) brother and (1) sister.
