He was born April 6, 1892 in Mussomeli, Caltanissetta, Sicily and came to the United States 55 years ago (since 1910). He had lived in Niagara Falls for 50 years (1915). In the late 1930's he worked for Frontier Bakery. During the 1940's & 1950's, along with his wife, they owned and operated the former Niagara Fruit Market. He retired from the parks department in 1957. He was a member of the Third Ward Republican Club.
Mr. Ferro is survived by his widow, Jennie Ferro; two sons, Joseph Governatori and Salvatore Ferro, both of Niagara Falls; four daughters, Mrs. Mark (Alma) D'Elia, Mrs. Charles (Josephine) Bonura and Mrs. Mario (Marie) Pirastru, all of Niagara Falls and Mrs. Clark (Frances) Dye, Santa Ana, Calif.
Services were held at the Magaddino Memorial Chapel Inc. on Friday, October 1, at 9:30 a.m. and at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lebanon Church. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery
