David Herdt, 75, 2418 East F St. died at Goshen County Memorial hospital Sunday at 2:30 a.m. He had been ill for three years and a patient at the hospital four days before his death.
Mr. Herdt was born Nov. 30, 1885 at Rosenberg, Russia the son of Eva Krantz and George Herdt. He married Marie Ziegler Oct. 25, 1912 in Russia. The family settled near Scottsbluff after coming to America in 1913 and moved to the Torrington area in 1928. After retiring from active farming, the family moved to Torrington where they were members of the Congregational church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Congregational church by the Rev. W.W. Hiller. Burial will be made in Valley View.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, at home; five sons, Alex, Ed, Lee, all of Torrington; David, Casper; Ruben, Bakersfield Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Henry Heckman, Mrs. Con Keller, Mrs. Orval Neider and Mrs. Pete Maul, all of Torrington; a step-brother, Conrad Stricker and a step-sister, Mrs. Katherine Keller, both of Scottsbluff. There are 23 surviving grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
