He was born Jan. 19, 1917, in McGrew, Neb., and had lived in Cheyenne since 1968.
Mr. Herdt was a carpenter, and had been employed at Capital Lumber Company at the state of Wyoming.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Herdt is survived by two sons, Robert Herdt of Denver and David Herdt of Phoenix; brothers, Ed Herdt and Leo Herdt, both of Torrington, and Ruben Herdt of Bakersfield, Calif.; sisters, Esther Neider, Helen Maul and Freida Keller, all of Torrington; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary Herdt; brother, Alex Herdt; and a sister, Eva Heckman.
