Elizabeth Ellen Davidson Gamble was the second daughter of William Gamble and Margaret Black. She had an older sister, Mary Anna, who was four years older than she was. She married Hugh Sharp Tannahill on June 7, 1894, one year after his first wife died and became mother to his five children. Hugh and Elizabeth became the parents of two of their own children, Christine May and William George. She died in 1926 at the age of 68.
