William George Tannahill was the son of Hugh Sharp Tannahill and Elizabeth E.D.Gamble. He was the second of two children. He had an older sister, Christina May. He married Jannetta Christina Caldwell on March 6, 1918. To this union were born five children; Gladys Mae, Jesse Margaret, Ellen Elizabeth, Mary Janetta and Ruth Donalda. He died in 1965 at the age of 69.
