KEIZER — Anna Ewen, 93, died Sunday.

She was born in Harrington, Kan., and moved to Salem in 1938. She operated restaurants in Salem and Mill City and worked in food service at the Oregon State Hospital for 10 years. She enjoyed canning, cooking, crocheting and gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene; son, Bill Beringer of Woodburn; daughters, Ruth Council of Hadlock, Wash., and Martha Hillyer of Salem; brother, John Glantz of Yachats; sisters, Elizabeth Steinmetz of Wilsonville, Christine Spadt of Washington and Alvina of Hamilton, Mont.; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visiting will be 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Interment will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens.
