John J. Peters, 1700 Midway Road, Menasha, formerly of Forest Junction, age 90, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1991 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center in Menasha after a lengthy illness.
He was born Feb. 11, 1901 in the town of Brillion, the son of the late John and Mary (Emmers) Peters. He attended the Holmes School of Forest Junction. He was married Oct. 14, 1925 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown to Loyola Gussert. After marriage Mr. Peters farmed with his wife in the Forest Junction area, until retiring in 1870 after which time he lived with his daughter, Marlene Brunette in Forest Junction until entering Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center in 1987. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hilbert and a member of its Men’s Club. He enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors include three daughters and son-in-law; Mrs. Vernon (Ethel) Overesch, Appleton; Mrs. Joseph (Mert) Heimmermann, Appleton; Mrs. Ted (Marlene) Brunette, Forest Junction; a son and daughter-in-law; Chuck and Ann Peters, Hilbert; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Raymond Hawley, Appleton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Loyola in 1972, six sisters and two brothers.
Services were at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hilbert with the Rev. Rallen Stencil officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
