Mrs. John A. Visser, one of the oldest residents in Sioux County, died at the William Kalsbeek home at 4:30 a. m. January 31.

She was 90 years and 11½ months. She had been in good health up to the time of her death which was caused by a stroke.

Funeral services will be at the William Kalsbeek home Saturday afternoon at I o'clock and in the First Reformed church at 1:30 with Rev. H. Colenbrander officiating. A.D. Van Etten is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Visser was born in Friesland, The Netherlands in 1860 and came to America in 1892.

The family lived on a farm near Clara City, Minn. until 1909 when they came to Orange City. Her husband preceded her in death in 1941.

Surviving are five children, Mrs. J. W. Harms and Mrs. William Duitsman of Clara City, A.J. Visser of Grand Rapids,. Mich., Mrs. William Kalsbeek and Mrs. Dick Muilenburg of Orange City. She had lived for 10 pleasant years at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kalsbeek. There are also 25 grand children and 37 great grandchildren.

According to her children her life was a constant testimony of her implicit faith in her Lord and Savior. She was a helpful person, being one of those relied on for Red Cross knitting.
