KAPYATIKA (1951), p 624. Mrs Panagiota Athanasiou Stathaki, Greenwood SC, was born in Arachova, 23 Dec 1898. She is the daughter of Michael S Trakas, and the former Eleni P Zoura, of Greenwood.

Mrs Stathakis, attended the Arachova Grammar School, and arrived in the US with her husband Athanasios P Stathakis, in 1919. Her deceased husband, first arrived in this country in 1906, and married Mrs Panagiota 15 Apr 1915 in Arachova. After locating in Gastonia, from 1924 to 1936, the whole family moved to Greenwood, where they are located to this day, with the exception of Mr Stathakis, who d. 30 Oct 1946, being survived by children Panagiotis, Michael, and Maria, now Mrs V Miserlis. Mrs Stathakis, has Ioanna, in California, besides her parents, sisters, Mrs Harikleia Dema, of Greenwood, Paraskevi, in Vourvoura and brother Sarantos (Charles), in Texas.

Mrs Pansy Trakas Stathakis, 65, widow of Tom P Stathakis died this morning at 8 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs Mary G Misserlis, 406 Henrietta Avenue, following a long illness.

She was born in Arahova, Greece, a daughter of the late Mike Trakas and Mrs Helen Zouras Trakas, both natives of Arahova. She had made her home in Greenwood since 1936 and was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Augusta, Ga.

Surviving, in addition to her daughter, are two sons, Mike T and Pete T Stathakis, bot of Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs Harriett Demos of Myrtle Beach and Mrs Joanne Anagnost of Greenville; one brother, Charles Trakas of Greenwood; and five grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted from First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev Nicholas C Nick. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Melehes, John Stathakis, Mike Anagnost, Pete Stathakis, Jimmy Stathakis, Pete Mentis, Pete Zouras and John Raftakis.

Honorary escort will be Dr W P Turner, Dr John Harrison, Nick Kaperonis, Andrew Trakas, Pete Mandanis, Gus Mandis, S P Zouras, Jack Lewis, Hubert Underwood, Tom Matalas, Andrew Vandeusen, Chris Leventis, Sam Trakas, Pete Leventis, Alex Woodle, W D McGowan, Nick Sterghos, John Kiaptas, Steve Sarris, Jim Themelis, Tony Frangais, Gus Martin, Alex Kerhoulas, Pete Kerhoulas, Ted Kerhoulas, George Andrews, Hal S Ellenberg and Jack Ellenberg.

The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be taken to the home of her daughter Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
