Lyle L. Hewitt, 84, of Plum City, born October 1, 1921, died June 30, 2006 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand.

Lyle was a son of Clarence and Sophia (Olson) Hewitt of Plum City. He married Isabelle Johnson of Plum City October 10, 1942, in Beloit. They returned to Plum City where Lyle lived the rest of his life. He was employed by the S. B. Foot Tanning Company for many years. He worked for the Pierce County Highway Department until retiring in 1984. Since retiring he worked part-time for Klinski Ag and Lime Company and for the Town of Union Highway maintenance. He had been a resident of the Plum City Care Center since August 1, 2005.

Lyle was a member of the Plum City United Methodist Church since 1948, being active in many areas of the church (especially making ice cream for many, many years). He was a member of the Plum City Fire Department since 1974 until retirement.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Isabelle (Johnson) Hewitt; two sons, Charles (Theresa) of Ellsworth,
Dennis (Marlene) of Maiden Rock; son-in-law,
Jerome Bierbrauer of Plum City;
five grandsons, Charles Jr. (Roxanne) of Ellsworth,
Chad (Jessica) and
Kyle (Angie) both of Hudson,
Kurt Hewitt of River Falls and
Eric Bierbrauer of Ellsworth:
six granddaughters, Michelle (Shane) Platt of Dallas, TX, Jennifer (Aaron) Block of Muskego, Heather (Rodd) Kirby of Dallas, TX,
Kari Hewitt (Fiance Nate Pachl) of Hudson,
Le Ann (Josh) Gross and Emily Bierbrauer, both of Rochester, MN;
nine great grandchildren, one brother, Floyd Hewitt of Plum City; one sister, Leona Foss of Burbank, CA; many nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents,
one dear daughter Diane Brierbrauer;
three brothers, Ray, Harry and twin brother Laverne,
three sisters, Lucille Blomstrom, Luella Fetter and Lutrelle Hewitt.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday July 8, 2006 at United Methodist Church in Plum City. Rev. John Hazen will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Plum City. Arrangements by Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand.
