Aloys "Al" H. Meyer, age 78, of Melrose, formerly of Freeport, died Saturday, January 13, 2001 at Pine Haven/Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Rev. Roger Klassen, OSB officiated, with burial following in
the parish cemetery.
Aloys Henry Meyer was born Aug. 30, 1922 in Millwood Township, Stearns County, 3 miles northwest of Freeport, where he lived and farmed all of his life, until 1995 when he entered the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport, Catholic Order of Foresters, and Catholic Aid. Al is survived by sisters, Loretta Kollmann and her husband, John of Lake Henry, Sister Mary Jude Meyer, OSB of Saint Joseph, Marie Moscho and her husband, Wilfred of Saint Martin, Bernadette Lauer of Waverly. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sisters, Joseph Meyer, Evelyn Rademacher, and Margaret Lauer.
Serving as casket bearers were LeRoy Moscho, James Moscho, Walter Kollmann, Robert Rademacher, Randy Lauer, and Mark Lauer. Cross bearer was Lloyd Meyer.
