Liberal -- Clarence Roth, 75, died May 15, 1990, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal.

He was born July 9, 1914, at Topeka, the son of Joseph and Christiana A. Schaefer Roth.

A resident of Liberal since 1938, he was a retired millwright. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a 44-year member of the Knights of Columbus, both at Liberal. He was a 4th Degree Knight.

On Aug. 9, 1937, he married Florina Herrman at Liebenthal. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Walter, Kingman, Ariz.; two daughters, Louise Winner, Kismet, and Helen Nichols, Hutchinson; four brothers, Joe, Garden City, Adam, Liberal, Elmer, Plains, and the Rev. James "Jake", Bushton; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the Miller Chapel, Liberal, with a Knights of Columbus rosary immediately following. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Liberal, with Father Jim Sheehan presiding. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Miller Mortuary, Liberal. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Liberal.

Memorials may be sent to St. Anthony Catholic School, Liberal, or to the American Heart Association, both in care of the mortuary.
