Joe Roth, 93, Garden City, Kansas, died Monday, May 17, 1993 at Terrace Garden Care Center, Garden City, Kansas. He was born October 20, 1889 in Kamenka, Russia. He was the son of Joseph Roth and Christina Schaefer Roth.

On February 27, 1922 he married Caroline M. Marks in Garden City.

He moved to Argentina then to Topeka in 1913. In 1915 he move to Julesburg, Colorado and on to Garden City in 1919. He was a maintenance foreman. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Garden City.

Those preceding him in death were his wife, Caroline, who died on January 25, 1992; one daughter, Floreen Roth; parents; one sister and three brothers.

Survivors are: three sons, Leonard F. Roth and Lawrence G. both of Garden City, Joe A. of Olpe; one daughter, JoAnn C. Biernacki of Ulysses; three brothers, Adam Roth of Liberal, Elmer Roth of Plains, James Roth of Bushton; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Vespers Service was at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Mike Helms officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.

Memorial has been established with the Arthritis Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden.
