ANNA SCHNITTJER
Anna Schnittjer, 86, a former rural Woolstock resident, died November 17, 1988 at the Belmond Health Care Center. She had been a resident there for two years.
Funeral services were November 21 at Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. John Berglund officiating. Burial was in French Cemetery east of Woolstock.
Anna Groothoff, daughter of John and Mata Groothoff was born April 1, 1902 in Germany. She came to the United States in 1928. In 1929 she married Dick Schnittjer at Parkersburg. The couple resided in Iowa and Mr. Schnittjer was a contract painter.
Mrs. Schnittjer had resided near Clarion for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967. Prior to moving to the Belmond Care Center, she had resided with her son, Herbert.
Survivors include four sons: Richard of Manitoba, Canada, Edward of Clarion, Herbert of Clarion and Harold of Kamrar; three daughters: Esther (Mrs. Wayne) Keller of Blairsburg, Loraine (Mrs. Jerry) Sheffield of Clarion and Eunice (Mrs. Merle) Van Gerpen of Webster City; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one brother, Tom Groothoff of Saskatchewan, Canada.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two children, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
She attended Missionary Alliance Church in Blairsburg.
