matron at Huntley Is Taken by Death


Mrs. Katherine Elizabeth Gabel died at a local hospital about midnight Friday from complication of diseases.


She was brought to the hospital about 10 days ago from the ranch home near Huntley.


Mrs. Gabel was born in Russia May 16, 1876, and was married there Nov. 18, 1897, to Chris Gabel.


The family came to this country in 1914 and after spending a few months in Kansas., they came to Montana.


They lived several years in Forsyth, and then came to Huntley about 10 years ago.


Mrs. Gabel is survived by her husband and by eight children, George Gabel of Edgar, MT.; Mrs. Thomas Flick of Missoula, MT., Mrs. John Becker of Ballantine, MT., and Anna, Henry, Lena, Fred, and Julius at home.


She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters in Russia and three brothers in this country, George Balzer of Worden, Fred Balzer of Huntley, and Henry Balzer of Fair Grove, MN.


Mrs. Gabel was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Worden.


Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
