George Wamboldt, 64. a resident of Scottsbluff for 27 years died at his home, 618 East Ninth street. Mr, Wamboldt had been ill with asthma for about two years and had been bedfast for the past three months. Born July 18, 1875, at Oleshna, Russia, Mr. Wamboldt came to the U. S. in 1912, settling immediately at Scottsbluff. He worked on farms and at the sugar factory during campaigns until he became seriously ill two years ago. Surviving are his widow, Katherine, to whom he was married in Russia; three daughters. Mrs. Dave Keller, Mrs. Carl Meyer, both of Scottsbluff, and Mrs. Adam Fenning of Lyman; eight grandchildren; his mother, Katherine, 90 years old, of Scottsbluff; and three brothers, Andrew of Scottsbluff, Henry of Milliken, Colo., and Dave of Denver. One child died soon after he came to this country.Funeral services will be held at the Wambodt home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday and at St. James Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Rev. W.E. Harms will conduct the services and Read's funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Christened name shown in the Dietel Colony Church Records is Johann Georg Wambold. Upon entering the U.S., the immigration officials in New York, N.Y., eliminated the name Johann and he kept the name of George Wambold.
