Johann "John" Ziegenhagen, 71, of New Britain, died unexpectedly Sunday (November 3, 2002) at New Britain General Hospital. Born in Wloclawek, Poland, on Jun. 24, 1931,he lived in New Britain since 1953. Mr. Ziegenhagen was employed at Fafnir Bearing Company for 34 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in New Britain.
Surviving is his wife Krystyna (Jozefek) Ziegenhagen; a son, Michael Ziegenhagen and his wife Margaret of Kensington; a daughter, Martha Ward and her husband Fred of New Britain; 6 grandchildren, Michael Ziegenhagen, Jr. of Hoboken, NJ; Brian and Katie Ziegenhagen, both of Kensington; Joseph Ward of New Britain; Melissa and Kimberly Tynik, both of Berlin; a niece, Rosemarie Pelletier and her husband Michael of Bristol; 3 nephews, William Ziegenhagen and his wife Debbie of Colchester; Robert Ziegenhagen of Lynchburg, PA; Jefferey Ziegenhagen of New Britain; several grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Wilhelm Ziegengagen who died in 1998, and Martha (Wentland) Ziegenhagen who died in 2001.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
