She grew up and attended school in Warroad and later married Fred Moyer in 1950. While Fred worked at the mink ranch, Marilyn stayed at home to raise her three sons. After Fred's death in 1969, she moved into town to live. The last fifteen years, she has resided at the Warroad Care Center. Marilyn loved to crochet, cross-stitch, and sing. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marilyn Moyer passed away on March 4, 2007 at the Roseau Area Hospital at the age of 76.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Peggy) Moyer of Roosevelt, Lee (Linda) Moyer of Coon Rapids, MN and David Moyer of Salol; 6 grandchildren, Scott, Kevin, Fred, Matt, Aaron, and Austin; 6 great-grandchildren, Mikaila, Keegan, Jaron, Aura, Victor and Ava; brothers, George Heinen Jr, of Warroad, Dean Heinen of Hebo, OR and John Heinen of Skime; and sisters, Shirley Gordon of Eureka, CA and Lois Fortier of Thief River Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; grandson, Nick; and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 8th at 2 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Helgeson's.
Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Warroad.
